Whenever you run a server on your machine, it uses what are called 'ports', which
allow other machines to connect to them. Of course, sometimes you're just running
them for your own internal use, but there's no easy way to stop someone from accessing
the server. AnalogX PortBlocker allows you to basically block the Internet port
of most servers, making them unreachable to other computers on the Internet. This
program is NOT a Firewall, but it will allow you to run a server that is only
available on the local network, and will log any access attempts made by other
machines that are attempting to use the blocked interface. By default, PortBlocker
is configured to block the most common types of servers that might be on a system
(FTP, HTTP, etc), so will not require any modification for most users. If you
are running a special server of some sort, then you can easily add it's ports
(either TCP or UDP) to it's list, and have them blocked and/or logged.

Do you need to map a specific TCP or UDP port on your machine to another port
on another machine? Do you want to limit access to a server on your machine based
on the IP address of an incoming connection request? If these sound interesting
to you, then AnalogX PortMapper is just what the doctor ordered (or programmer,
in this case). AnalogX PortMapper allows you to map and port on your computer
to any IP address and port on another machine; not only that, you can limit access
based on the incoming IP address! So, say for instance that you are using a proxy,
and would like to be able to telnet from other machines; simple, just run PortMapper,
and tell it to forward any request to port 23 (telnet) to the machine you want
to access. Now, any time you telnet to your proxy server machine, it automatically
forwards the data to the other machine! Or, do you run a webserver, and only want
people from IP address you specify to connect? No problem, PortMapper can do that
as well! Overall, a great standalone program, or an excellent addition to a proxy
or server!

Star Downloader is a download accelerator that can increase download speeds by
up to 400 percent. Acceleration is achieved by splitting the downloaded file into
several parts and downloading these segments at the same time. Download speeds
are further increased by downloading the file from the fastest mirror sites. You
can automatically resume broken downloads if your connection is lost or if your
computer is shut down. With the scheduler, you can download files at certain times
of the day. Star Downloader can also connect to your ISP automatically, and hang
up upon completion of any scheduled downloads. Plus, the integrated unzipping
utility can automatically unzip and install downloaded files. Star Downloader
also integrates with your antivirus program to automatically scan files upon receipt.
Star Downloader supports FTP, HTTP, and proxy. Windows 98se/Me/2000/

VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote display
system which allows you to view a computing 'desktop' environment not only on
the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a
wide variety of machine architectures.

One of the best improvements to the telephone in the last few years was the addition
of CallerID - finally a way to avoid all those telemarketer calls and other less-desirable!
:) Of course, it would be nice if the computer could help make a good thing better,
and with that evolved AnalogX CallerID! CallerID is a straight-forward, using
any Unimodem/V-compatible voice modem that has Caller ID support, you can easily
track incoming calls including; who is calling and their number (if available),
how many calls have been received from this person, when the first call and when
the last calls were logged, and more! The program can easily be run minimized
on the system tray, with a special notification window that pops open when an
incoming call is received (which will automatically close).
